TRIPOLI, Oct. 23 (Xinhua) -- The Libyan security on Wednesday announced the arrest of two of the most dangerous human traffickers in the country.
"The Counter-Terrorism Force, in coordination with the Attorney General, managed to arrest two individuals considered the most dangerous human traffickers in Libya, one of whom is Libyan and the other Sudanese," the Counter-Terrorism Force of the UN-backed government said in a statement.
Several boats used for human trafficking were also seized, the statement added.
Human traffickers in Libya take advantage of the state of insecurity and chaos following the 2011 uprising that toppled the late leader Muammar Gaddafi's regime to send thousands of illegal immigrants through the Mediterranean Sea toward Europe. Enditem
