Myanmar reaffirms commitment to work with UN in nation-building efforts

YANGON, Oct. 24 (Xinhua) -- Myanmar President U Win Myint on Thursday reaffirmed the country's commitment to work with the United Nations in nation-building efforts.

Marking the 74th anniversary of the signing of the UN Charter, U Win Myint reiterated Myanmar's belief in the purposes and principles of the UN Charter.

And he also voiced determination to cooperate with the United Nations and member countries in support of constructive efforts of the organization for peace and prosperity.

On June 26, 1945, delegates from 50 nations signed the UN Charter in San Francisco, the United States. It came into force on Oct. 24, 1945, which was designated as UN Day. Enditem
