SYDNEY -- A new autonomous submarine, developed by Australian company UAM Tec, is set to change the way people interact with the underwater environment, creating realistic 3D images of the bottom of the ocean more cheaply and efficiently than ever before.

Unveiled at tech and business conference CEBIT in Sydney on Tuesday, UAM Tec's "Sub Mapping" technology is the first fully autonomous and visual-based mapping submarine to exist in the world. (Australia-Submarine-Underwater Map)

NANGARHAR, Afghanistan -- Up to 11 militants loyal to the Taliban group including one of their local commander have been confirmed dead following series of the Afghan forces' airstrikes in the country's eastern Nangarhar province, provincial governor's Spokesman Attaullah Khogiani said Tuesday.

LOS ANGELES -- In the last 24 hours, Californian firefighters have responded to some 330 fires across the state, California Governor Gavin Newsom said Monday afternoon at a press conference.

The update came as the latest Getty Fire in West Los Angeles forced 10,000 residents, including multiple celebrities living near Hollywood, to evacuate, and the Kincade Fire, which broke out northeast of Geyserville in Sonoma County on Wednesday night, continued to burn across Northern California. BUENOS AIRES -- Argentina's Central Bank (BCRA) Monday announced stricter currency exchange controls to prevent capital flight after the left-leaning opposition defeated the conservative ruling party in general elections.
