BAKU, Oct 29 (Xinhua) -- One man was killed and three others injured after an exploration boat owned by Azerbaijan's state oil firm, SOCAR, exploded in the Caspian Sea on Tuesday, emergency authorities said.
The incident happened when the boat, which was carrying explosives used in seismic works, suddenly blasted in the shallow part of the sea, SOCAR said in a statement.
An employee of the company was killed on the spot, health authorities said. Three other employees were admitted to a city hospital in Baku with varying degrees of injuries.
Authorities have launched an investigation into the cause of the incident. Enditem
