ULAN BATOR, Oct. 31 (Xinhua) -- A new Guinness world record has been set in western Mongolia's Khovd province for "most people performing traditional throat singing simultaneously," the provincial governor's office said Thursday.

A total of 1,308 throat singers performed traditional throat singing simultaneously in Khovd, the capital city of the province on Wednesday.

Batsuuri Dugerjav, governor of Khovd Province, was awarded a Guinness World Records certificate for the achievement.
