JERUSALEM, Oct. 31 (Xinhua) -- Sheba Medical Center, located in central Israel, launched a global innovation center on Thursday.

According to the hospital's announcement, the mission of the new ARC (accelerate redesign collaborate) center is to transform healthcare delivery and improve patient care through innovation.

The hospital added that "the center highlights some of the world's leading clinical sites and research facilities."

"It brings together clinicians, startup companies, industry, leading medical centers, and national partners in Israel to transform healthcare," said the hospital.

The ARC center has established six development hubs, each of which is headed by a senior physician within Sheba.

The hubs deal with Big Data and artificial intelligence, precision medicine, telemedicine, virtualization in medicine, innovation in surgery and rehabilitation.

The hospital noted that "the new center accentuates a unique business and ecosystem strategy, where clinicians work shoulder-to-shoulder with start-up developers." Enditem
