Hungarian Chief Prosecutor re-elected for another 9-year term

BUDAPEST, Nov. 4 (Xinhua) -- The Hungarian Parliament re-elected Hungarian Chief Prosecutor Peter Polt for another 9-year term here on Monday.

Polt has been re-elected by the Hungarian parliament with 134 votes, while 24 deputies voted against him, Hungarian news agency MTI informed.

The parliament elected him upon nomination by Hungarian President Janos Ader.

Polt starts his third term as Chief Prosecutor. He was already at the top of Hungarian prosecution from 2000 to 2006, and since 2010.

Polt took an oath in the Parliament immediately following his reelection. The official start of his next term is Dec. 15, according to the website of the Hungarian Parliament. Enditem
