HANOI, Nov. 6 (Xinhua) -- Vietnam raked in over 14.6 billion U.S. dollars from exporting footwear in the first 10 months this year, witnessing a year-on-year rise of 11.2 percent, according to the country’s General Statistics Office on Wednesday.
Largest importers of Vietnam's footwear products included the European Union, the United States, China, Japan, and South Korea, said the office.
Between January and October, the country also earned nearly 3.1 billion U.S. dollars from exporting handbags, wallets, suitcases, hats and umbrellas, up 10.9 percent from the same period last year.
In 2018, Vietnam reaped 16.3 billion U.S. dollars from exporting footwear and roughly 3.4 billion U.S. dollars from handbag export, witnessing respective year-on-year rise of 11 percent and 3.2 percent, according to the office. Enditem
