LILONGWE -- A Malawi Defence Force (MDF) soldier was killed while three others were injured after a grenade exploded during a training session Tuesday.

Major Paul Chiphwanya, MDF's spokesperson, confirmed the accident to local media, saying that it happened at Chikala Hills in the eastern part of Machinga, a district in the Southern Region of Malawi, where soldiers usually train. (Malawi-Soldier)

DUSHANBE -- Fifteen armed militants were killed and five captured early Wednesday morning after launching a failed attack on a Tajik outpost bordering Uzbekistan, local authorities said here on Wednesday.

PARIS -- French troops killed one of the leading jihadists of the Sahel region in Africa last month, French Defense Minister Florence Parly said late Tuesday.

WASHINGTON -- U.S. President Donald Trump spoke on phone Tuesday with his Mexican counterpart, Andres Manuel Lopez Obrador, about the recent deadly attack in Mexico that killed nine U.S. citizens.
