TOKYO, Nov. 7 (Xinhua) -- Tokyo stocks opened essentially flat Thursday following a mixed lead from Wall Street overnight, as investors became antsy.
As of 9:15 a.m., the 225-issue Nikkei Stock Average shed 15.75 points, or 0.07 percent, from Wednesday to 23,288.07.
The broader Topix index of all First Section issues on the Tokyo Stock Exchange, meanwhile, edged down 0.62 point, or 0.04 percent, at 1,693.83.
Iron and steel, and rubber product issues led decliners, while precision instrument and land transportation-linked issues comprised those that gained the most in the opening minutes after the morning bell. Enditem
