MOSCOW, Nov. 7 (Xinhua) -- Five people aged 22-35 were injured Thursday in a fire at an oil terminal in the Russian Black Sea port of Novorossiisk, the Russian Investigative Committee said.

"All the injured with burns of various severity were taken to a medical institution, where they are receiving the necessary medical care," the committee's Krasnodar regional division said in a statement.

The fire at an underground oil tank could have broken out during welding work, according to the statement.

Currently, investigators are working on the spot to establish the circumstances of the accident, it said.

The Krasnodar regional division of the Russian Emergencies Ministry said in a statement that the fire occurred on an area of 200 square meters.

It took 91 people and 33 units of equipment to extinguish the fire within one and a half hours, the statement added. Enditem
