LONDON, Nov. 7 (Xinhua) -- England coach Gareth Southgate has recalled Chelsea winger Callum Hudson-Odoi and Liverpool's Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain for the Euro 2020 qualifiers against Montenegro and Kosovo.

Hudson-Odoi damaged his Achilles tendon in March. Oxlade-Chamberlain has only recently begun playing regularly for Liverpool after a year and a half struggling with knee and hamstring problems.

"It's not a case of reward, we have huge belief in him," said Southgate of the Liverpool player, who scored their winning goal against Genk on Tuesday night.

The coach also explained why he hadn't given a call to Aston Villa's in-form Jack Grealish, saying he was "very close."

"He's just got to keep playing the way he is, and if we had issues over the weekend, I wouldn't hesitate to call him into the squad," he commented.

Elsewhere John Stones returns after injury to replace Everton's Michael Keane, who has struggled for form with his club in recent weeks, while Tyrone Mings and Joe Gomez retain their places in their squad.

England entertain Montenegro on November 14 and travel to Kosovo on November 17, needing just a point to assure their qualification for next summer's European Championship finals.
