VILNIUS, Nov. 7 (Xinhua) -- The Baltic Food and Beverage Exhibition BAF 2019 kicked off on Thursday at Litexpo exhibition center in Vilnius, the capital city of Lithuania, attracting over 100 exhibitors from Lithuania, Latvia, Britain, Sri Lanka, Italy and Azerbaijan and a high number of visitors.

"Visiting BAF 2019, food lovers looking for new tastes will be able not only to purchase interesting products but also to participate in tastings, investigate the subtleties of cooking from famous chefs and discover new culinary ideas," the organizers said on their website

With an exhibition area of 3,800 square meters, the three-day event features more than 100 brands of food and beverages and their representatives, who will invite visitors to taste and buy their new and unique products that are entering the market.

Along with the conferences and discussions on new ideas and trends of the food business, the event also features a Junior Chef Contest for young chefs to showcase their most impressive culinary skills within 2 hours.

Starting from 2013, the exhibition each year becomes an important business event and a place for gourmet food discovery, with last year gathering more than 70 companies from the world, according to the organizers. Enditem
