KUWAIT CITY, Nov. 11 (Xinhua) -- Air traffic at Kuwait International Airport is normal and unaffected by a one-hour strike organized by civil aviation employees on Monday morning, Kuwait's Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) said.

"Air traffic at the airport proceeded normally and operations at all airport facilities were not affected by the strike," Saleh Al-Fdaghi, deputy director of Kuwait International Airport Affairs at DGCA, said in a press statement.

Commenting on the strike, he said the movement of passengers went according to schedule, praising all Kuwait International Airport staff who maintained the efficiency of the operation.

"The Civil Aviation Administration will continue its efforts in developing the capabilities of the employees and preserving their rights," he said.

The Union of Employees of DGCA had called for a strike on Monday to claim allowances for noise, danger and pollution they are exposed to while working. Enditem
