RABAT, Nov. 15 (Xinhua) -- Morocco and Maldives signed on Friday in Rabat four cooperation agreements to boost bilateral relations.

The agreements concern visa exemption, strengthening of political consultations, cooperation on religious affairs and training and qualification of diplomats.

The agreements were signed after talks between Moroccan Minister of Foreign Affairs Nasser Bourita and visiting Maldivian Minister of Foreign Affairs Abdulla Shahid.

The visit of Shahid, the first by a Maldivian foreign minister to Morocco, coincides with celebrations marking the 30th anniversary of diplomatic relations between the two countries, said Bourita in a press briefing after the signing ceremony.

The talks focused on ways to develop bilateral cooperation through concrete projects, especially sharing experiences in agriculture, fisheries and tourism, he added.

For his part, Shahid said he was carrying a message from Maldivian President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih to King Mohammed VI, adding both countries share ties of long-standing friendship and diplomatic ties. Enditem
