HANOVER, Germany, Nov. 16 (Xinhua) -- A large number of Chinese companies are participating here in the Agritechnica 2019, the world's leading trade fair for agricultural machinery, which lasted from Nov. 10 to 16.

According to German Agricultural Society (DLG), the host of the agritech fair, some 2,800 exhibitors from 53 countries and regions present their innovations, concepts and visions for the agricultural technology at the fair.

Among all the exhibitors, a total of 163 Chinese exhibitors have taken part in this year's event, ranking the third after Germany and Italy.

Chinese exhibitors play a "very important role" in the Agritechnica 2019, the theme of which is "Global Farming-Local Responsibility", said Malene Conlong, international media and communications manager of DLG.

Agritechnica attracts a total of 400,000 visitors, and 25 percent of them are from outside Germany. There were some 3,000 visitors from China at the last Agritechnica, Conlong told Xinhua.

She noted that DLG is a non-profit organization which aims to promote farming knowledge across borders. DLG has an office in China founded in 2007, which has several Sino-German projects, including an exchange program for Chinese farming experts traveling to Germany.

"The number of Chinese exhibitors keeps increasing, with many still on the waiting list. Meanwhile, the quality of their products is also becoming better and better," Conlong said.

"We are looking forward to attracting more and more Chinese farmers to the Agritechnica, which is a good platform for people to share knowledge and enhance international exchange," she added.

The ARBOS GROUP, which is an Italian agricultural machinery company and controlled by China's Lovol Heavy Industry, Co. Ltd, has presented its P7000 Series tractors, cultivators and other high-end products during the show.

Ding Liming, vice president of ARBOS GROUP S.P.A, told Xinhua that his company is committed to accelerating the transformation and upgrading of the agricultural machinery and equipment industry and to accelerating the implementation of its globalization strategy.

"We are trying our best to inject more Chinese agricultural machinery intelligence into the world's high-end product stage, and to show the world the bright business cards of Chinese agricultural machinery," he added.

For Jiangsu World Agricultural Machinery Import and Export Co. Ltd, it is the first time to take part in the Agritechnica with its advanced combine harvester.

General manager Alex Liu told Xinhua that attending the world-leading exhibition gave him a chance to have a better understanding of the advanced technology of large-scale agricultural machinery in Europe.

In addition, Liu also hopes that this exhibition will help his company open the door for the European market.

With 1,750 exhibitors from outside Germany, 62 percent of the total, Agritechnica 2019 is the leading international marketplace for agricultural solutions and innovations on the exhibition grounds with an area of about 40 hectares, the organiser's figures show.

Agritechnica, held in Hanover every two years, is the showcase for the global agricultural technology industry and the forum for addressing future questions in crop production. Enditem
