ALGIERS, Nov. 16 (Xinhua) -- The five candidates of Algerian presidential election Saturday signed the Charter of Ethics to show their respect for the electoral procedures, the official APS news agency reported.

Mohamed Chorfi, president of Algerian National Independent Authority for Elections (ANIE), together with the five candidates signed the Charter.

The Charter of Ethics includes the leading guidelines and practices which comprise the moral behavior framework that all the players of the electoral process are required to implement, APS quoted Chorfi as saying.

Chorfi said the Charter was initiated by the ANIE and has been elaborated after consultations on the principle and content.

The campaign of the presidential election will officially start on Sunday in Algeria.

The five candidates were approved on Nov. 2 to participate in the election.

In September, interim Algerian President Abdelkader Bensalah announced that the presidential election is scheduled for Dec. 12. Enditem
