SRINAGAR, Indian-controlled Kashmir -- Troops of India and Pakistan exchanged heavy fire and mortar shelling along the Line of Control (LoC) dividing Kashmir on Monday, officials said.

ISLAMABAD -- A wooden boat capsized in Pakistan's eastern district of Okara on Monday, killing 10 passengers and leaving several others missing, a government official said.
Deputy Commissioner Okara Maryam Khan told Xinhua that the boat carrying about 35 people turned turtle in the Sutlej river near the Malhu Sheikha area of Okara, a district in the eastern Punjab province. (Pakistan-Boat-Capsizal)

PARIS -- A suspension bridge over the Tarn river in southwest France collapsed Monday, killing a 15-year girl and injuring several others, local media reported.
The 150-meter high bridge linking Mirepoix-sur-Tarn and Bessieres, 30 kilometres north of the city of Toulouse, collapsed at around 08:00 local time (0700 GMT), plunging three vehicles into the water. (France-Bridge collapse-Toll)

JAKARTA -- The Indonesian National Police's anti-terror squad has arrested 46 alleged terrorists, including the leader of a terrorist network, in the wake of a suicide bombing attack at a police station in the country's North Sumatra province last week, a senior police officer said here on Monday.
The National Police's spokesman Brigadier General Dedi Prasetyo revealed that the squad known as Detachment 88 captured 46 alleged militants in the country's capital of Jakarta, the provinces of North Sumatra, Aceh, Central Java, West Java, Banten and East Kalimantan. (Indonesia-Bomb-Attack)
