LIMA, Nov. 18 (Xinhua) -- Peruvian businesses near the Bolivian border are concerned about the closure of a key border-crossing point, a trade official said on Monday.
Ursula Zavaleta, an administrator of the Puno Chamber of Commerce and Production in southeast Peru, said the Peruvian-Bolivian border in Desaguadero has been closed since Tuesday.
The closure could cost up to 2 million U.S. dollars per day, said Zavaleta. If it continues, businesses will lose more than 60 million dollars a month.
So far, Bolivian authorities have not given any indication of when the two sides could meet to discuss the problem, she added.
Among the export products Peru ships to Bolivia are iron bars, cement and plastics. Enditem
