TOKYO, Nov. 21 (Xinhua) -- Tokyo stocks opened lower Thursday as investors remained concerned about the near-term prospects for a key trade deal.
As of 9:15 a.m., the 225-issue Nikkei Stock Average lost 53.73 points, or 0.23 percent, from Wednesday to 23,094.84.
The broader Topix index of all First Section issues on the Tokyo Stock Exchange, meanwhile, lost 1.63 points, or 0.10 percent, at 1,689.48.
Pulp and paper, insurance and metal product-oriented issues comprised those that declined the most in the opening minutes after the morning bell. Enditem
