BRATISLAVA, Nov. 21 (Xinhua) -- The most dramatic match of the 11th round of the 2019-20 Slovak Basketball League was played in Handlova, as the team from the mining town developed a 16-point lead against Svit in the first half, but the visitors managed to tie the game in the second half and force overtime.
With Handlova's scoring rapidly dropping in the remainer of the match, Svit took home two points for winning 96-87, led by their 22-point shooter Jalen Nesbitt, who decided to play despite being ill.
Elsewhere, Prievidza played in front of their home fans after a month away, but their return to the Nike Arena didn't go as anticipated. Opponents Lucenec could once again rely upon American point guard Mike Caffey who scored 20 points and added eight assists.
The visitors took home an 84-74 victory but their joy was tempered by a sprained ankle for Slovakia national teamer Jaroslav Musil.
Komarno's woes continue both on and off the court, with team from the south of Slovakia not only suffering with injuries but also struggling financially. The complicated situation resulted in Komarno starting only five players throughout their entire away match against Spisska Nova Ves.
Playing against such a disadvantaged team, the bottom-ranked home side were able to please their fans with a comfortable 119-83 victory, only their second of the season. American Evan Maxwell experienced an exceptional night, scoring 40 points and securing 10 rebounds. Enditem
