DAMASCUS, Nov. 21 (Xinhua) -- At least six civilians were killed and 31 others wounded on Thursday by renewed mortar shelling by the rebels on Aleppo city in northern Syria, state news agency SANA and activists reported.
The rebels on the western outskirts and northern countryside of Aleppo fired several mortar rounds on residential neighborhoods in Aleppo city, the latest in a renewed mortar attacks that have intensified in Aleppo over the past few days.
The wounded were taken to the Razi hospital to receive proper medical treatment, said SANA.
Meanwhile, the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights said the fresh mortar attack left tens of people between killed and wounded.
It said the rebels also blew up a Syrian weapon depot in the countryside of Aleppo.
Aleppo city has remained largely calm since the army captured the rebel-held part east of the city in 2016. However, the rebels in the countryside frequently target the city with mortar shells. Enditem
