WASHINGTON -- The last two witnesses scheduled for publicly testifying before a House panel as part of an impeachment inquiry into U.S. President Donald Trump offered their narratives of events relating to the investigation on Thursday.

Fiona Hill, former National Security Council senior director for Europe and Russia, told the House Intelligence Committee that she was told Trump's personal lawyer, Rudy Giuliani, was doing "explosive" things that would "probably come back to haunt us." (US-Trump-Impeachment)

HOUSTON -- Two airmen were killed in an "aircraft mishap" Thursday morning, according to a Facebook message posted by the Vance Air Force Base in U.S. state of Oklahoma.

The base is about 105 km northwest of Oklahoma City.

In the message, the Vance Air Force Base said two Air Force T-38 Talons assigned there were involved in the mishap. At the time of the accident, the aircraft were performing a routine training mission. (US-Oklahoma-Air force)

OUAGADOUGOU -- At least three Burkina Faso soldiers have lost their lives on Thursday in two attacks by gunmen on army positions in central-north and Sahel regions of the terrorism-torn country, security source told Xinhua.

DUBLIN -- A total of 16 people were found alive in a sealed trailer of a truck on a ferry heading towards Ireland from France, Irish national radio and television broadcaster RTE reported on Thursday.

Stena Line, operator of the ferry, confirmed the report by saying in a statement that the 16 people were found by an employee of the ferry who heard the banging from inside the truck parked on the vehicle deck of the ferry, which is due to arrive at Rosslare Europort, a sea port in southeast Ireland at 3:30 p.m. Irish time.
