MOSCOW -- Russia plans to build a base on the Moon after 2025, which can be used to monitor comets and asteroids and prepare flights to other planets, a Russian official said Monday.

At the end of this year, Russian space agency Roscosmos will present to the government a program for the study and exploration of the Moon, Roscosmos Executive Director for Science and Long-Term Programs Alexander Bloshenko said. (Russia-Moon-Base)

ADDIS ABABA -- A traffic accident in Ethiopia's Oromia regional state in the central part of the country has left 18 people dead, state affiliated media outlet Fana Broadcasting Corporate (FBC) reported on Monday.

FBC reported the traffic accident happened on Sunday evening when a transport minibus travelling from Ethiopia's capital city Addis Ababa to Ambo 110 kms northwest of the capital city collided with a dump truck travelling on the opposite side of the road, leaving 18 people dead. PARIS -- Four people have died and another is missing after flash floods hit villages in the Var and Alpes-Maritimes departments in southeast France over the weekend, local media reported on Monday.

Citing regional authorities, state-run radio network France Info reported that the four people were confirmed dead in Var, where intense rain fell from Friday to Sunday morning, causing water levels to rise at an unprecedented rate. (France-Floods-Death) Enditem
