DAMASCUS, Nov. 25 (Xinhua) -- Unknown warplanes struck the outskirts of rebel-held areas in the countryside of Aleppo Province in northern Syria on Monday, state TV reported.

The warplanes struck the outskirts of the city of al-Bab and the area of al-Rai in the northeastern countryside of Aleppo, said the TV, giving no further details.

The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights said the unknown warplanes flew over areas controlled by the Turkey-backed rebels in Aleppo countryside, adding six explosions were heard as a result of the airstrikes.

Meanwhile, Kurdish reports said the U.S.-led coalition struck 11 positions of the rebels near al-Bab and al-Rai.

It wasn't immediately clear what the exact targets of the strikes were. Enditem
