ISLAMABAD -- A Chinese business delegation of 22 enterprises is visiting Pakistan to communicate with local government officials and companies, seeking more cooperation opportunities under the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC).

"CPEC has reached great achievements and greatly benefited the Pakistani people in terms of electricity supply, infrastructure and job opportunities. Cooperation between enterprises of the two countries is a source of power for CPEC, and there is great potential for Chinese enterprises especially private companies to conduct more cooperation under CPEC," Sha Zukang, the head of the delegation and also the president of the China-Pakistan Friendship Association.

COLOMBO -- Sri Lanka's newly appointed Minister of Industrial Export, Investment Promotion, Tourism and Civil Aviation, Prasanna Ranatunga said the new government would look to address major challenges in the coming months to attract foreign direct investments, local media reports said here Tuesday.

"The tourism industry had the biggest drawback post-Easter Sunday terror attack and we haven't still been able to recover properly. The foreign investors also lost confidence in the economy and our FDIs hit a major tumbling block. However, soon after the 30-year-old civil war, we turned around the tourism and investment sectors and we are confident of reviving it once again," Ranatunga said.

BUSAN, South Korea -- The 10 member countries of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) and South Korea agreed on Tuesday to resist all forms of protectionism and enhance trade for regional prosperity.

"We are facing new challenges such as trade protectionism, transnational crimes and the Fourth Industrial Revolution," South Korean President Moon Jae-in said during a formal session of the two-day ASEAN-ROK Commemorative Summit was held in Busan, the southern port city of South Korea.

ABUJA -- Nigerian President Muhammadu Buhari on Monday called on judicial officers to work towards creating special courts to assist the speedy administration and dispensation of justice in the country.
