KATHMANDU -- At least 18 people died and 13 injured after a passenger bus plunged 400 meter below the road in southwestern Nepal, a senior government official said.

KUNDUZ, Afghanistan -- Fifteen civilians, including seven women and six children, were killed and two others wounded after a roadside bomb explosion struck a vehicle in Afghanistan's northern Kunduz province on Wednesday, a provincial government spokesman said.

The vehicle was on a road in Khimchal locality of Imam Sahib district from neighboring Khan Abad district before touching off an Improvised Explosive Device (IED) on Wednesday evening, spokesman Esmatullah Muradi told Xinhua. (Afghanistan-Attack-Toll)

UNITED NATIONS -- At least 41 people have been reportedly killed in the latest heavy rains and landslides that have affected almost 430,000 people in the Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC), a UN spokesman said on Wednesday.

"The Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs says that torrential rains since October along the Ubangi River have caused flooding, impacting nearly 430,000 people," said Stephane Dujarric, spokesman for UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres. "Yesterday (Tuesday) alone, heavy rains and landslides in the capital Kinshasa reportedly killed at least 41 people." (DRC-Floods-Toll) Enditem
