MADRID, Nov. 27 (Xinhua) -- Both Chelsea and Valencia go into the final round of games of the Champions League with a chance of reaching the last 16 after a 2-2 draw between the two teams in Valencia's Mestalla Stadium on Wednesday night.

Valencia will be the most frustrated of the two sides after seeing some big chances go to waste with Maxi Gomez guilty of kicking clean air when he had the goal gaping in front of him and also skewing the ball wide from close range in the first half, while in the second half Dani Parejo saw a penalty saved by Kepa Azpiliqueta before Rodrigo Moreno fired wide when he should have scored in the last minute of injury time.

The first half began with Chelsea looking sharp and Tammy Abraham fired just wide before the game evened out.

Maxi Gomez was guilty of a dreadful miss in the 19th minute when he completely failed to make contact with the ball in front of an almost open goal, but after Jasper Cillessen produced a magnificent save to deny Abraham in the 40th minute, Carlos Soler opened the scoring for Valencia.

The midfielder arrived late in the area to meet a Rodrigo cross and although Kepa got a hand on the ball, he couldn't keep it out.

Valencia's lead lasted a minute before Mateo Kovacic found space at the edge of their area to score with a 20 yard shot.

Chelsea were ahead early in the second half after Christian Pulisic slotted hone from close range, although the VAR needed time to determine whether or not the goal was valid .

The game turned into an end to end affair with Valencia throwing everything forward and should have drawn level in the 64th minute after Cesar Azpilicueta fouled Gaya only for Kepa to save Parejo's penalty.

The Chelsea keeper was beaten eight minutes from time when Daniel Wass' cross caught a strange effect to go in off the far post. It was what Valencia deserved, but the result means they will probably have to win away to Ajax in the last round of games with Chelsea big favorites to beat Lille. Enditem
