TOKYO, Nov. 29 (Xinhua) -- Tokyo stocks opened higher on Friday as the yen's retreat against the U.S. dollar overnight gave exporters a boost, which had a positive bearing on the broader market.
As of 9:15 a.m., the 225-issue Nikkei Stock Average added 42.52 points, or 0.18 percent, from Thursday to 23,451.66.
The broader Topix index of all First Section issues on the Tokyo Stock Exchange, meanwhile, gained 1.71 points, or 0.10 percent, at 1,709.77.
Mining, electric appliance and securities house-linked issues comprised those that gained the most in the opening minutes after the morning bell. Enditem
