LONDON -- A man has been detained by police after gunfire reports at London Bridge here on Friday.

London Bridge has been cordoned off by police after reports of gun shots. The Met Police then confirmed that a man has been detained by police and they believe a number of people have been injured. (Britain-Gunfire)

FRANKFURT -- German car manufacturer Daimler AG announced Friday that it plans to cut thousands of jobs worldwide by the end of 2022 to reduce costs amid the auto industry transformation.

The maker of Mercedes-Benz said it would reduce staff costs by around 1.4 billion euros (1.54 billion U.S. dollars) by the end of 2022 and, among other things, to reduce the number of management positions worldwide by 10 percent. (Germany-Daimler-Job)

TEHRAN -- Iran's Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei said on Friday that the unexpected visit of U.S. President Donald Trump to Afghanistan is an "insult" to the Afghan people's independence, Tehran Times daily reported.

The Americans enter countries in the region "without any permission," Khamenei was quoted as saying.
