Morocco's trade deficit grows 3.1 pct in Oct.

RABAT, Dec. 2 (Xinhua) -- Morocco's trade deficit increased by 3.1 percent in October year on year, the foreign exchange regulator said on Monday in a periodical report.

Morocco's trade gap reached 17.8 billion U.S. dollars by the end of October, the report said, noting the coverage rate of imports by exports remained stable at 57.5 percent.

The imports amounted to 41.7 billion dollars, while the exports rose to 23.9 billion dollars.

The report noted that Foreign Direct Investments in Morocco fell by 50.9 percent by the end of October to 1.59 billion dollars against 3.1 billion dollars a year ago. Enditem
