GE Healthcare showcases products targeting Chinese market at RSNA 2019

CHICAGO, Dec. 2 (Xinhua) -- Among over 30 brand new imaging technologies and intelligent applications GE Healthcare puts on display at the ongoing 105th Scientific Assembly and Annual Meeting of the Radiological Society of North America (RSNA), there is a Radiology Command Center that targets Chinese market.

The center is an intelligent application that has integrated big data with smart radiology management, which can help Chinese hospitals that usually see huge flow of patients, reduce the waiting time of patients needing intelligent mechanical diagnosis and therapy treatment, improve the medical equipment utilization, and optimize the operation as a whole.

The center, newly developed by GE Healthcare Chinese research team in cooperation with a customer hospital in Shanghai, is expected to go to the market soon.

GE Healthcare has also put on display a "Revolution" Maxima CT, the first time for the product to show up in the North America market. Installed with an in-depth probe, an AI automatic positioning scanner developed by GE Healthcare Chinese research team, the CT equipment can automatically put patients in a right position, and the touch screen on the side panel enables doctors to collect first-hand imaging besides the patients.

By integrating AI technology into the work process, the CT scanner has got clearer imaging and reduced the control steps, letting doctors focus on patient care.

GE Healthcare, the medical and healthcare arm of the U.S. General Electric Group, runs five production bases in Beijing, Shanghai, Tianjin, Tonglu in Zhejiang Province, and Wuxi in Jiangsu Province. Of every two MR systems GE Healthcare sells globally, one is from Tianjin. Being GE's largest ultrasound equipment production base, GE Wuxi factory accounts for 40 percent of GE ultrasound equipment sales.

Starting from 2011, GE Healthcare Chinese research team has developed and put on market over 60 new products, of which 70 percent target at the primary market.

Established in 1915, the RSNA is an international society of radiologists, medical physicists and other medical professionals with more than 54,000 members across the globe.

RSNA annual meeting, the world's premier annual radiologic meeting, typically hosts more than 50,000 attendees, and the exhibits cover the latest developments in radiology and related imaging technologies dealing with diagnosis, intervention and therapy.
