JERUSALEM, Dec. 4 (Xinhua) -- Jerusalem launched on Wednesday its fifth annual jazz festival, bringing together local and international artists and showcasing a Chinese jazz group for the first time.
The festival includes three days of concerts, masterclasses, a stage for music students, and night jam sessions.
"We have musicians from all over the world," Eyal Sher, executive director of the festival, told Xinhua.
The list includes over 40 artists from Sweden, the United States, Britain, Ethiopia, South Africa, Turkey, Israel and China.
Trumpeter Li Xiaochuan, a contemporary Chinese jazz artist, and his quintet will hold the debut performance in Israel. It is "the first time, but certainly not the last, that a Chinese jazz is featured in an Israeli festival," according to the festival's official website.
Sher said that the jazz festival is a project of the Israel Festival, Israel's largest annual performing art festival. Enditem
