LOS ANGELES -- A shooting incident on Wednesday afternoon in Pearl Harbor Naval Shipyard left three dead, including the gunman, and one injured.

The gunman, who killed himself, was a sailor assigned to the U.S.S. Columbia, a submarine docked at the shipyard for maintenance, and it was not immediately clear whether the killer knew the victims, all shipyard employees, said Robert Chadwick, commander of Navy Region Hawaii, at a news conference. NEW YORK -- China could gain a new gear for growth by developing smart supercities through 5G connectivity, smart grids, renewable energy and modern transportation, according to a latest research report of Morgan Stanley.

BAGHDAD -- Three Kurdish security members were killed and two others wounded on Thursday in an attack by Islamic State militants in eastern Iraq, a security source said.

The attack took place early in the morning when IS militants attacked a military base for a Kurdish security force, known as Peshmerga, in Kaljo area on the provincial border between the provinces of Diyala and Sulaimaniyah, Alaa al-Saadi from Diyala's provincial police told Xinhua. (Iraq-IS)

NEW DELHI -- At least nine people were killed and 20 others injured after a passenger bus hit a stationary goods truck Thursday in the central Indian state of Madhya Pradesh, police said.
