MOSCOW -- Russia supports the continuation of the Structured Dialogue of the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe (OSCE) with the involvement of military experts and without any politicization of the process, Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said Thursday.

"We consider dialogue an important confidence-building measure, especially when military contacts between Russia and NATO are interrupted," Lavrov said at a meeting of the OSCE Ministerial Council in Slovakia's capital of Bratislava, according to an official Russian Foreign Ministry transcript.

LONDON -- British housebuilder Berkeley Group reported on Friday a sharp fall in its profit before tax and revenue for the six months to Oct. 31 amid Brexit uncertainty.

"Berkeley's net cash of 1,060.6 million pounds continues to reflect the under-investment of the last three years, commensurate with the uncertain operating environment," said Rob Perrins, chief executive of Berkeley Group.

Perrins said the company remained "alert" to the market risks with a general election next week and the delay of Brexit, which was prolonging the uncertain operating environment of the last three years.

TOKYO -- Japan removing its tightened export controls on South Korea may not be tabled for discussion in a planned meeting later this month between the two countries, Japan's Minister of Economy, Trade and Industry Hiroshi Kajiyama said on Friday.

He said the meeting would serve as an opportunity to exchange views on the issue.

"We plan to exchange views on the export controls of Japan and South Korea and their implementation," said Kajiyama.

WASHINGTON -- U.S. Secretary of Defense Mark Esper said Thursday there had been "no movement" with regard to getting Turkey to abandon the Russian S-400 missile system.
