HELSINKI, Dec. 7 (Xinhua) -- PyeongChang Olympic champion Mikael Kingsbury from Canada collected his 57th win in his 100th World Cup appearance to start the new season of FIS Freestyle Ski World Cup in Ruka, Finland, on Saturday.

The opener of FIS Freestyle Ski World Cup has been hosted in Finland's ski resort Ruka for nearly 10 years in a row.

Kingsbury continues his winning streak that he has landed on top of the podium in each competition in Ruka since 2015.

The 27-year-old skier scored 90.80 points to seal the win, followed by Japanese Ikuma Horishima and Sweden's Walter Wallberg.

On the women's side, Perrine Laffont won over Anri Kawamura and Britteny Cox to kick off the competition. The French skier is regarded as a strong candidate to take the World Cup title.

The Tour will move to China's Thaiwoo resort from December 14 to 15. Enditem
