MOSCOW, Dec. 10 (Xinhua) -- A wave of false bomb threats that began late last month continued to jolt Moscow and Russia's second largest city St. Petersburg on Tuesday.
Unknown persons warned about imminent explosions at 30 Moscow metro stations, the Academy of the Russian Federal Security Service, Vnukovo and Sheremetyevo international airports, and three shopping malls, TASS news agency reported.
Some 500 people were evacuated after 10 courts in Moscow received blast threats, before failing to find any explosives.
Local media said that 30 schools, six courts, 15 metro stations and a major shopping mall in St. Petersburg were also hit by hoaxes.
Inspections were carried out on Monday in Moscow at more than 65 educational and health facilities, about 25 shopping malls and 15 courts following the bomb threats, and over 30,000 people were evacuated throughout the city, according to Interfax news. Enditem
