OSLO -- Norway's largest mobile operator Telenor has said it would continue working with Chinese company Huawei for its fifth-generation (5G) telecoms network, while adding Sweden's Ericsson as its new supplier.

Telenor's top management told a press conference on Friday that the company's network is to modernize in the next four or five years, and Huawei will be involved the entire process. (Norway-Huwei-5G)

PYONGYANG -- The Democratic People's Republic of Korea (DPRK) carried out "another crucial test" at the Sohae Satellite Launching Ground on Friday evening, the Korean Central News Agency (KCNA) reported Saturday.

The test was conducted from 22:41 (1341 GMT) to 22:48 (1348 GMT) on Dec. 13, according to a statement issued by the spokesman for Academy of Defence Science of the DPRK. (DPRK-Test)

RIO DE JANEIRO -- A consortium of state-owned Chinese companies on Friday was awarded the contract to build and operate what will be the second-longest bridge in Brazil.

Under the project, a bridge will be built spanning the famed Bay of All Saints, which connects Salvador, capital of the northeastern Bahia state, with Itaparica Island. The project also involves the construction of related roads. (Brazil-Bridge-Chinese Company)

ABUJA -- At least 15 people were killed when terror group Boko Haram launched an attack on a town in Nigeria's northeastern state of Borno, an official said on Saturday.

Usman Zannah, a lawmaker representing Borno in the national parliament, told Xinhua that scores of the Boko Haram militants in 11 vehicles stormed the town of Magumeri, about 40 km north of Maiduguri, capital of Borno, to wreak the havoc late Thursday. (Nigeria-Terrorist Attack-Death) Enditem
