DHAKA -- At least 10 people died in a fire at a fan factory in Gazipur on the outskirts of Bangladesh's capital Dhaka on Sunday, Fire Service Headquarters Duty Officer Lima Khanom told Xinhua.

Firemen brought the blaze under control at around 7:00 p.m. local time after a hectic effort of about two hours. (Bangladesh-Fire-Death)

QALAT, Afghanistan -- Five militants have been confirmed dead as the security forces pounded Taliban hideouts in the southern Uruzgan and its neighboring Kandahar province on Sunday, asserted an army statement released here.

The security forces backed by fighting planes struck the militants' hideouts outside Tirin Kot the capital of Uruzgan province, killing two insurgents and wounding three others, early morning, the statement added. (Afghanistan-Taliban)

MACAO -- Macao's first space exploration satellite was named Macao Science 1, the special administrative region (SAR)'s Secretary for Social Affairs and Culture Tam Chon Weng announced Sunday at an opening ceremony of an aerospace exhibition.

During the opening ceremony, Vice Administrator of China National Space Administration (CNSA) Wu Yanhua also announced that the CNSA would set up Macao Space Exploration and Science Center to assist deep space exploration cooperation between China and international society, and help such institutions in Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area to work with each other. KATHMANDU -- Nepal Airlines Corporation (NAC), the national flag carrier of the Himalayan country, announced Sunday that it would conduct flight to China's southern city -- Guangzhou from Nepal's capital Kathmandu, starting from the second week of March next year.

It will be the re-entry of Nepal's national flag carrier to a Chinese mainland destination after 11 years. It used to conduct Kathmandu-Shanghai flight until 2008 and the flight was discontinued due to its worsened financial situation. However, the NAC has been conducting regular flight from Kathmandu to Hong Kong Special Administrative Region of China regularly. (Nepal-China) Enditem
