LONDON, Dec. 19 (Xinhua) -- British stocks rose on Thursday, with the benchmark FTSE 100 Index up by 0.44 percent, or 33.07 points, to close at 7,573.82 points.
Glencore, an Anglo-Swiss multinational commodity trading and mining company, soared 2.33 percent, the top gainer of the blue chips. Kingfisher and AstraZeneca added 2.09 percent and 2.06 percent, respectively.
NMC Health, a private healthcare services provider, was the worst performer in the blue chips, with its shares losing 11.13 percent. Pearson, a British multinational publishing and education company, dropped 6.11 percent. Hargreaves Lansdown, a financial service company, shed 3.19 percent. Enditem
