KAMPALA, Dec. 25 (Xinhua) -- Ugandan police have arrested four suspects over the murder of a Chinese national in the capital, Kampala, last week, a police spokesperson said here on Wednesday.

Kampala Metropolitan police spokesperson, Patrick Onyango, said in a statement that the police nabbed the four suspects in connection with the murder and aggravated robbery of the Chinese national from his residence in Mbuya II, Nakawa Division, a Kampala suburb on Dec. 20.

He said the suspects confessed to killing the deceased at his apartment.

"Investigations started and four suspects were arrested yesterday [Tuesday] from Jinja where they were hiding," said Onyango.

"We also recovered exhibits like mobile phones of the deceased from them," he said.

The police spokesperson said efforts are underway to arrest the remaining suspect, identified only as Shamim who is still at large.

"We want to commend the task teams who participated in this operation. They [suspects] have been charged with murder and aggravated robbery," said Onyango. Enditem
