MADRID, Jan. 3 (Xinhua) -- Spanish share values fell by 0.46 percent on Friday with the benchmark stock market index Ibex-35 opening at 9,691.20 points and closing at 9,646.60 points.
Twenty-three of the companies trading on the Ibex-35 lost value, while 12 gained on a day of trading affected by the U.S. killing of a top Iranian commander Qassem Soleimani, which led to increased tensions in the Middle East and a sharp spike in oil prices.
Friday's worst performing company was steel producer Acelormittal, which suffered a 3.53 percent loss, followed by cellulose and clean energy producer Ence Energia y Celulosa with a 2.32 percent drop. International Consolidated Airlines Group (IAG) shed 2.14 percent.
Shares in the telecommunications company Cellnex Telecom went up by 2.28 percent, while collagen and cellulose manufacturer Viscofan added 1.65 percent and property company Inmobiliaria Colonial went up by 1.49 percent. Enditem
