RABAT, Jan. 7 (Xinhua) -- Morocco on Tuesday said it rejects all forms of foreign interventions, including military ones, in Libya's internal affairs, official MAP news agency reported.

Foreign interventions have only complicated the situation in Libya, Moroccan Foreign Minister Nasser Bourita said in a joint press briefing with his Gambian counterpart Mamadou Tangara in the southern city of Dakhla.

"The resolution of the Libyan conflict can only be political and consensual between various Libyan factions within the framework of the supreme interest of Libya and the Libyan people," he said.

Morocco calls for the respect of the territorial integrity of Libya and the interest of the Libyan people, he added.

Turkey recently announced that it would send troops to Libya at the request of the UN-backed Libyan government.

Libya has been locked in a civil war, splitting power between two rival governments: the UN-backed Government of National Accord (GNA) based in capital Tripoli and another in the northeastern city of Tobruk which is allied with the self-proclaimed Libyan National Army (LNA) led by Khalifa Haftar.
