LAUSANNE, Jan. 12 (Xinhua) -- Japan's Yuma Kagiyama danced perfectly in the free skate to claim the men's figure skating title at the Winter Youth Olympic Games here on Sunday.
Kagiyama took the top scores in the free skate to move up from third position to take the gold medal with 239.17 points in total.
Andrei Mozalev of Russia, who led the short program, ranked second eventually with a total of 237.94 points, while compatriot Daniil Samsonov came third with a distant 215.21 in total.
Dancing to the music Tristan e Iseult, China's Chen Yudong earned 127.29 points in the free skate and moved from the tenth to the sixth with a total of 184.60.
"I think I performed very well today," Chen said. "I felt very nervous in the short program because there were so many people watching me. I hope I can always stay calm in the future games."
