China edges Hungary 3-2 at curling event of Youth Olympics

LAUSANNE, Jan. 12 (Xinhua) -- China edged Hungary by 3-2 in a mixed curling Group B match at the 2020 Winter Youth Olympics in Champery on Sunday.
"It's not easy to win the match as Hungary is not a weak opponent," said Zhang Likun, captain of the Chinese curling team.
This is a very defensive game as both teams had a 1-1 win-loss record going into Sunday's match.
They chose to play safe and the score tied at 2-all after 8 ends, including four blanked ends.
In the final end, Zhang Likun drew to the four-foot ring to score a single point to help China win the match 3-2.
"Compared with the last match against Brazil, we played more safe because Hungary is stronger," said China coach Perry Marshall, "We have made no big mistakes in this game. We have accurately predicted the opponent's tactics and adopted corresponding tactics to counter them. "
