Israel's goods exports down 4.8 pct in 2019: annual report

JERUSALEM, Jan. 13 (Xinhua) -- Israeli goods exports fell 4.8 percent in 2019, according to an annual report released by the state's Central Bureau of Statistics on Monday.

According to Israel's Foreign Trade in Goods Report, the exports totaled 185 billion new shekels (about 53.3 billion U.S. dollars) last year compared with 194.4 billion shekels in 2018.

The report also shows a decrease of 0.9 percent in the Israeli imports, from 272 billion shekels in 2018 to 269.6 billion shekels in 2019.

In 2019, the industrial exports of mining and quarrying, excluding diamonds, accounted for 89 percent of the total Israeli exports, while diamond exports accounted for 9 percent.

The report also shows that 42 percent of Israeli imports in 2019 were raw materials, excluding diamonds and energy materials. Enditem
