MOSCOW, Jan. 14 (Xinhua) -- Commander of the eastern-based Libyan National Army Khalifa Haftar has left Moscow without signing a ceasefire agreement to end the country's months-long war, the TASS news agency quoted the Russian Foreign Ministry as saying on Tuesday.
According to reports, Haftar left the Russian capital on Monday after seven-hour talks with his rival, Fayez al-Serraj, who heads the Tripoli-based UN-recognized government. Serraj signed the ceasefire agreement.
Mediated by Russian and Turkish foreign and defense ministers, the aim of the negotiations in Moscow was to see a deal signed between the two sides for a permanent truce in the war-torn country. Enditem
