HAVANA, Jan. 14 (Xinhua) -- Cuban Foreign Minister Bruno Rodriguez on Tuesday touted bilateral ties with the European Union (EU) as "positive."
"2019 was a positive year in our relations with the EU and its member States," Rodriguez said via Twitter.
"We continued to advance our economic, commercial and cooperative relations," he added.
According to the senior official, last year, Cuba and the EU held their Second Joint Council and completed the first cycle of political talks under the bilateral Political Dialogue and Cooperation Agreement, signed in 2016.
Cuba and the EU relaunched ties after the European bloc split with the U.S. so-called Common Position on Cuba, a foreign policy that advocates isolating the Caribbean island to press for political changes there. Enditem
