LES ROUSSES, France, Jan. 17 (Xinhua) -- The 3rd Winter Youth Olympic Games will witness the debut of women's Nordic combined at an Olympic event with two Individual Gundersen events set to take place here on Saturday.

Women's Individual Normal Hill/4km is included as one of five additional events at the ongoing Winter YOG.

Following the FIS Youth Cup for women in 2014 and the first Continental Cup in the 2017/18 season, the first title events for Nordic combined featuring women athletes took place in 2019 at the FIS Junior World Championships in Lahti, Finland.

As for the Winter Youth Olympics, 30 male athletes from 16 International Olympic Committee (IOC) member associations and 23 female athletes from 13 IOC member associations are scheduled to start in Saturday's action, with one jump and 4km cross-country skiing on schedule for the women, while one jump and 6km cross-country skiing for the men.

Apart from two individual events, Nordic combined will put on Mixed Team action on January 22, final competition day of the Lausanne 2020. Enditem
