LOS ANGELES -- Four people were shot dead Friday at a residence in Grantsville, a town of about 10,000 people in the U.S. state of Utah, local police said.

There is no threat to the public since the suspect has been arrested, Grantsville Police Cpl. Rhonda Fields told reporters outside the house where the shooting occurred. (US-Utah-Shooting)

WASHINGTON -- The newly signed China-U.S. phase-one trade deal will reduce the uncertainty that has impeded global economic growth, International Monetary Fund (IMF) Managing Director Kristalina Georgieva said Friday.

"It is a welcoming sign that we now have the phase-one deal, sign in terms of reducing some of the uncertainty," Georgieva said at an event hosted by Peterson Institute for International Economics, a thinktank based in Washington D.C. (US-China-Trade)

MEXICO CITY -- A new migrant caravan that left Honduras on Wednesday is nearing Mexico's southern border, the Mexican Interior Ministry said on Friday.

Mexico's National Institute of Immigration (INM) will deal with applications for temporary employment or asylum, and the migrants will be restricted to the southern area while their immigration requests are processed, the ministry said in a release. (Mexico-Migrant Caravan)

OUAGADOUGOU -- At least five soldiers were killed in a roadside explosion on Friday in northern Burkina Faso's province of Soum, a security source told Xinhua.
